Saudi Arabia Makes Family Relocation Easier for Highly Skilled Talent

Saudi Arabia Makes Family Relocation Easier for Highly Skilled Talent

✍️ Ajmal Faris 📅 October 06, 2026

Saudi Arabia has introduced a practical change that could make the Kingdom more attractive to global talent.

Eligible highly skilled foreign workers can now process entry visas for qualifying family members alongside their employment visa, rather than waiting until their own residency process is completed.

Eligible family members include a spouse, sons under 25 and unmarried daughters, subject to applicable requirements.

Why does this matter?

For experienced professionals considering an international move, the decision is rarely about the job alone.

Family relocation, schools, housing and quality of life all influence the decision.

Making it easier for families to relocate together removes one practical barrier for highly skilled professionals considering Saudi Arabia.

It also matters for international companies expanding into the Kingdom, particularly when relocating senior executives, specialists and technical talent.

The Bigger Picture

Saudi Arabia is competing not only for investment and companies, but increasingly for people and expertise.

Attracting global talent requires more than creating jobs. It requires making the Kingdom an easier place for professionals and their families to build their lives.

This may be a relatively small procedural change.

But it sends a much bigger signal about the kind of talent ecosystem Saudi Arabia is building.
